ANWAR INVOKED SYARIAH LAWS……CONFUSE PKR MEMBER

Anwar in his latest move , went to JAWI to seek advice on his case , vis-à-vis his victim who was sodomised late June 2008. He attempted to dispel report by his victim on the ground that the sodomy that he committed should be witnessed by 4 persons. If Anwar`s victim is unable to come up with 4 witnesses , he can invoke the `qazaf` provided for in article 41 of `Akta Kesalahan Jenayah Syariah` (Wilayah Persekutuan )1997. Qazaf is a form of fitnah (false accusation) specific to accusations of zina (fornication) and under Hudud law can result in up to 80 lashes if one is found guilty. However, under the Act, a maximum fine of RM5,000 and/or three years jail is provided for.

In essence , the article simply stipulates that anyone who claims that he is a victim of `Zina` or sodomy can be charged if he cannot produce 4 witnesses who saw the act of sodomy.
Apparently , Anwar is trying to exhaust other legal avenues to shield him from accusations that he had sodomised his victim.

He is also trying to question and refute the need for to do `Mubahalah` , that is taking an oath on the quran as proposed by several distinguished personalities including BN members , such as , MCA.

Wira felt that the usage of the `syariah law` is good for Anwar if he were really clear of reports that he had commited this act of sodomy.

His move to opt for syariah laws would appear an after- thought upon realizing that he is going to be further exposed by the victim in due course. He is , indeed, in deep trouble trying to use both the civil and the syariah laws , that unwittingly , he will get embroiled in his own ill-advised game.

Observers further believe that PKR and the supporters will face more confusions and even consternations with what their so- called supreme advisor his doing right now.
Some are even urging Anwar Ibrahim to resolve his personal problems quickly and start planning to take over the government and instead of remaining as `government- in- waiting`.

They said that if Anwar prolong this issue , PKR and members will not want to waste their time with him especially for his scandals and bad habits. His dramas and theatrical acts will not hold water and the best way out is either he quits or the PKR members abandon him.
