ISA IS NO LONGER AN ISSUE TO THE INDIAN COMMUNITY. AMERICA, UK, THAILAND UNDERSTAND ISA BETTER.

The ISA issue is another favourite of Anwar Ibrahim. He was placed under ISA because he was involved in anti-national activities. Anwar Ibrahim always do the wrong things without thinking of the outcome to himself. He could not balance up between good and bad or between instability and national interests.

When he was out of detention, he still went on to create problems in the country. His passion for chaos is boundless and borderless. It is not easy for him to discard these feelings of hate, revenge, greed for power.

But he is a very fortunate man because as an UMNO member, he reached the post of Deputy Prime Minister to Tun Dr. Mahathir, within a period of 12 years. This privilege is only accorded to him at the expense of many other talented UMNO figures. He was on the verge of becoming the Prime Minister Of Malaysia but it fell short because being charged for sodomy in 1998. After serving 6 years in jail, he was released hoping that he might become a new person.

Unfortunately, Anwar Ibrahim did not meet the general expectation when he decided to lead PKR (PAS, PKR, DAP) to oppose the government. He could not contest in the last general election in March 2008 because of his criminal records. But from June 2008, he was free to participate in active politics. This time he is aiming to become the Prime Minister. In August 2008, his wife, MP Dr. Wan Azizah, vacated her Permatang Pauh Parliament seat to allow her husband to stand for it.

For this by-election, Anwar Ibrahim cheated and manipulated the Indian voters using the case of Hindraf leaders detained under ISA. Many Indians believe him and Anwar hoped that affected Indians would vote for him. He also made use of the Indian NGO’s to harrass the government.

Let it be known that there are over 50 Malays being detained under ISA. They are detained because they are dangerous to national security. The Malays are not violent over this because they know that these detainees can upset security and stability. We appeal to the Indians to also understand the importance of ISA because the government cannot bear the risks of disunity created by a few pro-violent Malaysians.

It is important to note that even America and UK have begun to appreciate the ISA. They have their own kind of ISA especially after the 9 September terrorist attack in New York and Washington. They realize that they cannot rely on criminal laws to fight terrorisms.

Thailand is facing the same problem in her southern provinces because she can only use the criminal laws to fight the fightings in the south. Only ISA-type of legal instruments can help to eleminate killings and wanton killings in Narathiwat and Pattani, closed to the Malaysian-Thai border.

ISA is important to security in Malaysia and therefore, the Malaysians must value it for the sake of peace and harmony among races.
