KOTA BARU: Independent MP Datuk Paduka Ibrahim Ali has dismissed Pakatan Rakyat’s plan to form a new Federal Government by Sept 16 as a “daydream”.
Citing a Malay proverb, the Pasir Mas MP pooh-poohed the plan as hujan naik ke langit (rain moving towards the sky) which was impossible.
“I am not taking sides. I can speak the truth with no pressure. I do not believe it is going to happen although PKR leaders are persistent about it,’’ he added. According to Ibrahim, he spoke personally to Sabah and Sarawak MPs in Parliament about the issue over the past four months.
“They informed me that there is no truth to it. I am inclined to believe them as they are my friends.
“They told me that they actually benefit as Barisan MPs. There are allocations and a support group to help them conduct their duties and provide services to the people.
On another note, Ibrahim called on all politicians to reduce politicking during Ramadan.
Ibrahim also urged the PKR to stop their mind-games about Sept 16 as he believes it is nothing more than a tactical game.
“I doubt they can find the necessary numbers,” he said.
PKR strategic planning director Saifuddin Nasution Ismail disagreed.
“There will not be any mob rule or violence, it will be smooth and constitutional with full respect to the due process of the law,’’ added the Machang MP.
In Alor Star, Universiti Utara Malaysia College of Law, Government and International Studies Research and post-Graduate dean Prof Dr Mohd Mustafa Ishak said toppling the government through crossovers was unheard of in developed countries.

what if we call for another General Election as crossovers are rather undemocratic.
Last General election we support BN under leadership of PM Pak Lah and not DSAI
