BEWARE – AMIEN RAIS COMING TO MALAYSIA.

By: Pemikir Negara

The shouts of reformasi are not alien in Malaysia, which since 1957 only heard the slogan “Merdeka”. Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Abd Rahman, the late and first Malayan PM and the population roared Merdeka 10 times throughout the peninsular on 31 Ogos 1957.

The people had peaceful years since 1957 though crises emerged as Malaysia goes on to achieve growth and economic prosperity for all races. Malaysia was able to face multifarious challenges and several prophets of doom, in and outside Malaysia. Under Barisan Nasiona,l Malaysia sustains an enviable measure of success and rise in per capita income of the citizens in Semenanjung, Sabah and Sarawak.

Now there were sudden cries of reformasi in our region. Indonesia, Philippines, Burma, Turkey, Thailand saw the sprouting of reformasi groups or so-called democratic movements led by leaders without cause. In Indonesia, this kind of movement is known as Organisasi Tanpa Bentuk(OTB), which is loose and surreptitious but detrimental to national security. In the Philippines, there was a movement called the Lost Command, which aimed at wrecking government.

In Indonesia there is one notorious man called Amien Rais leading a bizzare reformasi movement to destabilize and bring down the regime, particularly, that led by late President Suharto. Amien used violent and street tactics to grab power but failed to become President. He was inspired by Americans, who reportedly made Amien wealthier by USD 60 million.

Amien Rais exported his stratagem of violence and terror to Malaysia through his surrogate Anwar Ibrahim. Amien Rais and Anwar Ibrahim replicated violence and anti-government activities, this time against BN leaders. Anwar Ibrahim, leader of PKR, agitated young Malay, Chinese and Indian youths to demonstrate in the streets of Kuala Lumpur.

Amien, a Wahabi should confine his reformasi activities in Indonesia. He is wasting time and his scheme to create chaos together with Anwar in Permatang Pauh, is an act of gross interference in local politics.

The Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur should inform Deplu or Departmen Luar, Indonesia, that Amien is not welcomed to Malaysia.
