MP PERMATANG PAUH FAILED AGAIN IN THE COURT OF LAW

MP PERMATANG PAUH FAILED AGAIN IN THE COURT OF LAW

By MM

The request by MP Permatang Pauh to disqualify the judge presiding over is sodomy case, was rejected by the high court on 6th June 2011. The judge concluded that such request by Anwar contained no merit for consideration by the court. However, the court granted for a stay of the trial pending appeal to the Court of Appeal. The judge fixed 13th July 2011 for mention of the case.

It seems that the decision by the high court is based on the facts of the case presented by the prosecution team. In short, the MP however would managed to have a ‘short break’ this time before the case comes to light again in early July, when the Parliament session will also resume.

The MP, not short of political ploys, will find ways and means to dodge the rule of law, and hoping to buy time until the next general election. To survive his political career and the ego to become the next Prime Minister of Malaysia, the MP will need to be free from any legal encumbrances, including going through court proceedings.

What happen now are all his own misdoings. For now, it appears rather difficult for him to extract himself from his own trap. He was shown various ways by his cohorts to redeem himself but he chose to move on mindlessly.

Analysts believe that this MP would not succeed in the plan to head for Putrajaya in the coming general election. However, he would not budge from adopting sinister tactics to achieve this goal . His refusal to listen to others and his innerself can be self destructive. It is a matter of time but by then it will be too late. The sensible option for this MP is to look at himself in the mirror and stop doing things which are not in the interest of the rakyat.
